Before We Begin

My Executive Coach tells me that I can't advertise my business with fun, cheeky and goofy marketing.  That no one of any quality would look at my marketing much less contact me.  She tells me that I must tout my integrity, character and commitment to the sale.

In my opinion, most business professionals in most industries say the same things in their marketing:  we have the best ________ (insert anything here), we have the highest quality ____________ (insert anything here) and we offer our clients/customers the best ___________ (insert anything here).  I feel that I am inundated with the same old marketing / advertising everyday by every business.  And, frankly, it's boring and I don't believe any of it.

char-ac-ter:  noun.  the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.

in-teg-ri-ty:  noun.  the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

com-mit-ment:  noun.  the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.

You will read how every real estate broker says they possess "character, integrity and commitment".  Ask my past clients and I believe you will hear that I really do possess those traits.  Over the last 20 years, 73% of my real estate business can be traced back to repeat clients or referrals.  So I think the stats speak volume about what I do for each client.

Buying and selling real estate is a very detailed and serious process.  I will strive to meet and exceed each of your needs.  A successful sale for you is a success for me.  We are in this together.

But why can't buying and selling a home be fun?  Why can't we joke and laugh and roll our eyes? The finish line is there-whether we arrive at it with a somber attitude or with child like laughter and abandon-is our choice!

So, please continue reading About Me and see the cheekiness and humor (and seriousness) in what I am saying.  If I offend you, let me apologize now.  If you smiled, giggled or think I am probably the goofiest Broker you have come across online, let's chat!

Personal

Thanks for viewing my "About Me" page!  Here is a little personal information about me; please don't steal my identity as it takes a long time to get it back:

I am Doug Wingfield and live in Oak Cliff.  I have a partner of 27 years, a son and 2 dogs!  Life is really good!

There are some passions in my life that I would like to share.  One of them is gardening and I keep studying water-wise or Xeriscape plants; mostly because I am lazy and don't want to spend all of my days in the yard when it could be spent with friends or in the pool!  We live in a 60's contemporary home and have found that the native plants with a modern, simple style really give our home an edge.  Actually, we were in Palm Springs and I loved the no fuss yards and decided to copy them in Dallas!  On a side note, our home was chosen to be on the Heritage Oak Cliff Tour of Homes in 2018!  It was very hard work but 879 of the most gracious and amazing guests came out to visit.  It was an incredible experience!   Another passion I have is spirituality.  I find that experiencing love and appreciation for all things makes life more fun and enjoyable.  It is a constant struggle to let things be when someone cuts you off in traffic or the weather sucks.  But I keep telling myself that "it is what it is".

Giving back to the community is important to me.  In my life, I have been given help when I needed it and have chosen to pay it forward.  A portion of all my sales commissions is donated to local charities including the Resource Center, the North Texas Food Bank and to my church home, First United Methodist Church and Crossroads Community Services.  

Life has brought me many blessings for which I am extremely grateful.  It is truly humbling when someone brings me into their family's lives and asks me to assist them with one of their most financially major decisions.  I am honored to provide the assistance.

Professional

Knock Knock Realty Inc. is a privately owned company with a funny name that was founded by Doug Wingfield and Philip Trusty. With business, we are seriously fun and serious about service!

We specialize in homes South of LBJ Freeway and have a keen interest of the neighborhoods in East Dallas, Oak Lawn / Uptown / Turtle Creek and Oak Cliff.  Of course, that's where all the cool people choose to live!

We pride ourselves on individualized service.  No two clients are the same and should not be treated as such unless they are and then they should. 

A smaller, boutique real estate agency can provide the same or better service as a larger firm.  When you ask us to assist with your home sales or purchases, you not only have access to your agent but to the broker as well.  And with the internet, it is a level playing field.  Don't be blinded by the large franchise advertising budget or their cute little logo.  Interview several agents and choose the one you are comfortable with.  And ensure they are full time agents!  I, personally, have been in business 21 years and sold 241 homes.  My least sale was $26,000 and highest sale was $9,500,000.  Today, the homes I have listed for sale are sold on average in 27 days and at a 98% list price to sales price.  And my average sales price is $339,333.

The resume paragraph:  After a brief stint in the military (Air Force), I began my real estate career in the property management field about 30 years ago.  I became a real estate licensee in 1997 and a real estate broker in 2017.  Additionally, during this time I was an AVP and Trust Officer for Bank of America.  In this position, my client fiduciary duties included the management, purchase and sell of personal homes that were held in trusts. 

Some (hopefully) interesting facts:

On my first full day as a REALTOR, I sold a home!  On my third day as a REALTOR, I listed a home!  Needless to say, I was hooked.  I thought "Wow, Easy Money"!  Boy was I wrong!!  Selling real estate is probably one of the hardest things to do.  The upside is all the awesome people I get to meet - all of the entertaining with awesome people - and as a bonus I get to write off some of the expenses on my taxes!

Real estate transactions aren't simple.  Buying or selling a home is a high stake, very stressful situation involving emotions and major decisions.  You need a Broker who will work tirelessly on your behalf.  With my decades of experience, I have encountered many challenges during the transaction.  But thoughtful planning, strategic thinking and with a genuine good will, I have helped my clients overcome each obstacle.

Good conduct is it's own reward!
