Thank you for taking the time learn something about me.
I am Doug Wingfield and live in Oak Cliff. I have a son, a partner and 2 dogs.
There are several passions in my life. One of those passions is gardening. Keeping my yard and flower beds fresh, adding new plants and moving the flowerbeds toward xeriscaping are how I relax.
Currently, I am a member of a network of public gardens including the Dallas Arboretum and Garvin Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
I believe in the education of our young people. Many kids hate going to school; I never did. Today so many youths need a mentor. I heard of the program Reading Partners and believed that was a way to become involved. Each Thursday during the school year, I volunteer as a tutor to an elementary student who has academically fallen behind his classmates.
Giving back to the community is important to me. In my life, I have been given help when I needed it and have chosen to give back to those less fortunate. A portion of my commissions are donated to local charities including the Resource Center, the North Texas Food Bank, Crossroads Community Services and my church home, First United Methodist.
Animals are such a joy but so many are abandoned and neglected. I have been involved in rescue societies and adopted five dogs through the years. Regularly I contribute household goods for the ELPO thrift store (East Lake Pet Orphanage) and participate in fund raisers helping our furry friends.
Life has brought me many blessings for which I am extremely grateful. It is truly humbling when someone brings me into their family’s life and asks me to assist them with one of their most financially major decisions. I am honored to provide the assistance.
Again, thank you for learning about me. Feel free to contact me at any time.
